Castle Fraser Steam & Vintage Fair - 2006

I went out today with a friend to a Steam & Vintage Fair at Castle Fraser. I really enjoyed it and to add to my enjoyment I got to ride on a 1824 Foden 6 Ton C type 3 Speed truck owned by Alfie Cheyne. Thanks Alfie for a great day.

1921 Foden balast tractor "Heilan Laddie". Purchased new by Lanarkshire County Council as a wagon. Subsequently purchased by a threshing contactor in Stranraer. She was shortened to tractor form and fitted with an additional fly-wheel for driving a threshing drum. Purchased in 1957 by JG Barrack, this engine has twice completed the 275 mile journey from Aberdeen to Chester-Le-Street. First in 1959 and secondly in the Millennium year.
