Castle Fraser Steam & Vintage Fair - 2006

I went out today with a friend to a Steam & Vintage Fair at Castle Fraser. I really enjoyed it and to add to my enjoyment I got to ride on a 1824 Foden 6 Ton C type 3 Speed truck owned by Alfie Cheyne. Thanks Alfie for a great day.

The Dolphin' was the last showman's locomotive to be built by Charles Burrell of Thetford, Norfolk. She was supplied new to William S.Davies of Stoke on Trent in September 1925 to work his Orton & Spooner Diving Dolphins scenic ride. In 1937 the engine was acquired by John Shaw of Sheffield and renamed 'The Guv'nor', passing later to H J Wallis of Seaforth, Merseyside, who again renamed her 'The Commando'. She was purchased in 2001 by her present owner, Mike Dreelan of Blairs Aberdeen who has loving restored her to perfection.
